Completed in 2010 and adopted into the Trans Canada Trail in 2012 the trail sees constant flow of traffic. People from the surrounding area use the trail to commute between the two cities, exercise, socialize and sightsee. For help planning your trip check out the trail map page.
Passionate trail users post frequently to the NorthStar Rails 2 Trails Facebook page letting others know of a great ride they have had, extolling the virtues of the trail, sharing a quick picture or bringing a maintenance issue to our attention.
Dedicated groups of volunteers help to maintain the trail over the winter months and into the early spring and late fall. The summer months require a more focused trail maintenance regime than volunteers can provide so the Board hires and manages student labor over the busy season.
